RICHMOND, Va. — Freedom Virginia, a nonpartisan 501(c)4 organization committed to building a Commonwealth where all Virginia families have the freedom to thrive, today announced the organization is endorsing Heidi Drauschak for State Senate in the newly drawn SD-35 in Fairfax County.
“Heidi is a fighter for hardworking people and a champion for economic freedom,” said Rhena Hicks, executive director of Freedom Virginia. “Hardworking Virginians are the engine of our economy and our elected officials should prioritize them, not corporate special interests. Heidi will be a powerful voice for all hardworking families, both in Fairfax County and the Commonwealth, if elected to the Virginia State Senate.”
Drauschak is a small business owner, non-profit leader, and new mother who has dedicated her career to putting power back into the hands of regular people by fighting corruption in government.
“I am so grateful for the endorsement of Freedom Virginia,” said Heidi Drauschak, candidate for SD-35. “We have an opportunity to take bold action for our working families, and that includes establishing a higher minimum wage, universal paid sick leave, and at least 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave. As a new mom, I want all parents to be able to enjoy this magical time with their babies, while workers with a sick or injured loved one should be able to take time to care for them as well. We must put power back into the hands of everyday Virginians by passing policies that prioritize the financial needs of hardworking families before those of the corporations who profit off of them.”
Freedom Virginia will be running a five figure mail program in SD-35 promoting Drauschak’s commitment to the organization’s policy agenda, values, and priorities. More endorsements in other House and Senate races will be announced in the next two weeks.
