Virginians are seeing the highest inflation rates in the last 40 years.

On Monday, Freedom Virginia released a poll regarding the cost of living in Virginia in the wake of these steep inflation rates.

For the majority of Virginians, their income is not keeping up with their expenses. More than two-thirds (69%) of Virginians say their personal financial situation is the same or worse than it was two years ago.

According to the poll, middle-class families across Virginia are being hardest hit by inflation, with 88% of those making less than $50k per year.

By a 65-23% margin, Virginians want legislators to “prioritize expanding funding for K-12 schools, teachers, and school construction instead of tax cuts.”

By a 65-17% margin, Virginians want legislators to “increase state tax refunds for lower-income Virginians facing the impact of the pandemic and inflation.”

The poll conducted by Change Research from February 24-28 with a 3% margin of error. Click here for more.
