It might actually be real…
After rumors of Elon stepping back from his role in the federal government, and his subsequent departure, to his internet war with Trump, we think it could all finally be over.
We in Virginia are happy to see him go. Our economy has been on the front lines of DOGE’s efficiency war and stood to plunge further into crisis if Trump and Musk continued their habits of chopping down the middle class to help themselves and their billionaire friends amass more wealth.
In honor of his downfall, here are five moments from his time “in office” that we’ll never forget:
- Fired or forced the resignations of thousands of federal workers
- When he brought his kid into the Oval Office
- Set himself up to make a rumored $8 million a day in federal government contracts
- Oh, and stole a bunch of Americans’ data
The blow-up between Trump and Musk last week was wildly entertaining for most, but from a wide lens, it was incredibly embarrassing for America. Are we glad to see Musk go? Yes. Do we know what that will look like yet? No. But watching the federal government scramble to rehire fired workers might mean even they were ready to see Musk go. One thing we know for sure is that Elon Musk is like a bad rash; he just keeps coming back. So though he may be gone, we’re not holding our breath and will be prepared for his inevitable sulk back to the White House.
