Newly Elected Leaders Will Fight to Ensure Hardworking Virginians Can Get Ahead

RICHMOND, Va. — Freedom Virginia tonight congratulated Senator-elect Kannan Srinivasan and Delegate-elect JJ Singh, both Democrats of Loudoun County, on winning their seats in today’s special elections for Senate District 32 and House of Delegates District 26, respectively. Both candidates were endorsed by Freedom Virginia.

“We are confident that Senator-elect Srinivasan will continue fighting for hardworking Virginians in his new position,” said Rhena Hicks, Freedom Virginia co-Executive Director. “The Senator-elect has a strong record of working to ensure that health care is accessible and affordable for all Virginians. We applaud his support of a Prescription Drug Affordability Board to lower the cost of expensive and lifesaving medications that Virginians depend on. We congratulate him on his incredible victory and look forward to working with a pro-affordability majority in the Senate!”

“We are excited to work with Delegate-elect Singh,” said Ryan O’Toole, Freedom Virginia co-Executive Director. “He understands that hardworking Virginians are the backbone of our economy, not big corporations. We are sure he will work tirelessly to ensure Virginia families can get ahead by reducing the cost of child care, fighting for affordable housing and lowering the cost of medicine.”

Freedom Virginia looks forward to working with the legislators to create a more fair and affordable commonwealth.
