RICHMOND, Va. — After a landslide victory for affordability in yesterday’s statewide and House elections, Freedom Virginia today congratulates all its endorsed candidates. At a time of economic turbulence nationally, and especially in Virginia, these candidates campaigned and won on lowering costs immediately, prioritizing hardworking families as the engine of the economy, and rejecting corrupt corporate interests. From the House of Delegates to the Governor’s Office, Virginians chose to elect candidates who will ensure the middle class can get ahead.
Freedom Virginia co-Executive Directors Rhena Hicks and Ryan O’Toole released the following statement:
“We’re energized by the outcome of yesterday’s election and what it means for affordability in Virginia. Hardworking families are struggling to keep up with rising costs, and this election was a clear mandate that Virginians want pro-middle-class candidates who will put them first. Each of these candidates has shown they will fight for hardworking families. They will reject the priorities of corporations and the ultra-wealthy and stand up to President Trump and Congressional Republican pressure, which has been wreaking havoc on Virginia’s economy through cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, and the longest federal government shutdown in history.
Virginians have made their feelings clear: it’s about time we have leaders who will fight for a more fair and affordable Commonwealth. We’re excited to work alongside the General Assembly, the Governor-elect, the Lieutenant Governor-elect, and the Attorney General-elect to turn voters’ demands into reality in the 2026 legislative session by lowering the cost of prescription drugs, ensuring workers can take time off to care for themselves and their families, creating a more fair tax system, and expanding access to affordable housing.”
In the 2025 elections, Freedom Virginia endorsed the following winning candidates in statewide and battleground House districts:
Statewide:
Governor-elect: Abigail Spanberger
Lieutenant Governor-elect: Ghazala Hashmi
Attorney General-elect: Jay Jones
