RICHMOND, Va. — Freedom Virginia, a 501(c)4 organization committed to building a Commonwealth where all Virginia families have the freedom to thrive, today announced its endorsement of Delegate Kannan Srinivasan for the special election to replace Congressman-elect Suhas Subramanyam in the Virginia State Senate’s 32nd District. Alongside its endorsement, Freedom Virginia is launching a five-figure program to reach key voters via text, phones, and digital ads ahead of the firehouse primary on Nov. 16.
“Delegate Srinivasan has a long record of working to ensure health care is more accessible and affordable in Virginia, including his support for the bipartisan Prescription Drug Affordability Board legislation,” said Rhena Hicks, Freedom Virginia co-Executive Director. “We look forward to continuing our work with him in the Senate, and we know that he will uphold Freedom Virginia’s commitment to lowering the cost of health care and bringing down the cost of living for families.”
Blueprint Polling recently conducted a poll that highlighted Delegate Srinivasan as the strongest performing candidate in a general election against potential challenger Loudoun Supervisor Matt Letourneau. According to Virginia Scope’s report on the poll, Srinivasan’s strong existing record in the General Assembly on health care, reproductive freedom and voting rights made him more favorable among respondents.
Before his election to the General Assembly, he served as Chair of Virginia’s Medicaid Board. As Delegate, he has continued to advocate for affordable health care, serving on Health and Human Services and the Select Committee on Advancing Rural and Small Town Health Care, supporting legislation to create a Prescription Drug Affordability Board, and patroning legislation to expand access to reproductive health care.
